Alan Wake

Content sum up: While there is moderate language use ("sh*t" the very worst uttered), some infrequent gore (for example, a scene in which a bloodied man lies with a visibly broken leg, his blood smeared about), alcohol use (including one scene in which playable character Alan Wake and his best friend gulp down moonshine and act visibly drunk, slurring their words), along with the fact that Alan must constantly combat the darkness-filled, human-formed, axe-wielding "Taken" and possessed, flying objects in the dark, alone, with a mere flashlight and a couple of guns; with its lack of pervasive gore, sexual content and actual killing (he fights creatures—not humans—that simply dissolve into nothing after being dispatched), it isn't nearly as gory or over-the-top as, say, Resident Evil, or twisted and disturbing as Silent Hill—it's a constrained psychological thriller, not a psycho/slasher. So, I recommend this game for ages 14+.
