Release date: Out now
ESRB rating: "E" for Everyone

Sum Up:
LittleBigPlanet is far bigger than little. This is one of the most unique side-scrolling platformers to come out in a long time, and while I could go on and on about how hard this game is to pin, I'll try to sum up the basics. Think of this game as an unimaginably customizable playground, and you'll get pretty close. The levels seem to come straight from some wacky dream, with crazy and clever design, and a very extensive level creator; you can pretty much make anything you can imagine (and then share them online).

The basic gameplay consists of running through side-scrolling levels, while jumping, pushing objects, collecting the game's "Bubbles," switching from the game's foreground, middle ground and background, and using multiple characters in conjunction to sucessfully traverse through levels. It also has an extensive online multi-player and 2-4 player local co-op mode. Add this, the crazy character/level customizers, and the incredibly diverse and unique gameplay, and you've got one of the best, most kid-friendly games of this holiday season.

My age rating:
From what I've seen so far, the base game is pretty mild, with the ESRB descriptors being "Comic Mischief" and "Mild Cartoon Violence." Which means the violence will mostly involve the playable characters being crushed and/or set on fire (Looney Toons style) by the game's many cartoony traps. Although it looks like kids 7- might have a little difficulty with the game's mechanics and controls, I still think it's playble for kids 7+. And concerning content, kids 6- could watch (and maybe even play with help).
